Our Participation in Schools

Savastano & Dunn Orthodontics dedicates time every month where two assistants from our practice go to area schools and give a small 30 minute presentation to the students in grades 1st through 8th about the importance of dental hygiene and simple information about orthodontics.  We especially like to target the months of October, National Orthodontic Month and February, National Dental Hygiene Month.

The presentation includes a short movie (age appropriate), a question and answer period, prizes and each student will receive a goodie bag filled with important dental information.  Our practice has had great success providing this service at no charge for the past 20 years. The students and faculty just love it!  So much so we have several teachers that have us come in every year.

We periodically offer a special tour for girl scout and brownie troops trying to earn  badges.  Our office has also partnered with Seminole High Schools Health Academy by allowing those students interested in the dental or orthodontic field to job shadow with the doctors on a normal patient day.

These are just a few things our doctors and staff do to give back to the community.   Drs. Savastano and Dunn feel it is important to inspire children by encouraging them to stay in school and move forward with their education.

He enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering with both of these teams, and he has also co-authored a chapter in a surgical textbook on treating cleft lip patients.
